Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel wedding: Meredith + Adam
The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel wedding | Baltimore wedding photographer | Baltimore wedding photography | Oriole stadium wedding photos

Every time I heard from Meredith + Adam in the 13 months before their wedding, they shared some magnificent detail that made me look forward even more to working with them for their Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel wedding. From the yacht rock band that became the centerpiece of their reception plans and the orange and blue yarmulkas to signify their respective allegiance to her Orioles and his Dodgers to the photo booth baseball prop with heart-shaped stitching and the marquee LOVE letters for brightening up the party, they were exuberant about every element they had so carefully planned. They crafted wedding day roles for their beloved nieces and nephew. They planned a visit to Oriole Park at Camden Yards for wedding day photos — her hometown stadium and his favorite ballpark of all time (and as someone nicknamed the Stadium Guy who once had a gig on late-night television to visit ballparks, his opinion is a well-informed one!). At a time when most couples are overwhelmed and trying to shave items off their to-do list in the final weeks before their wedding, Meredith + Adam were commissioning caricature art for the cover of their programs and hiring additional videographers to film a hilarious lip-synching “marryoke” wedding video. (Go ahead a google that one. It’s worth it!) But my most favorite detail about this couple’s wedding plans is one I didn’t learn until their actual big day. In lieu of a pocket square, the groom tucked into his wedding suit a nondescript napkin from the bar where they had their first date. Not a napkin he went back for months or years later. It was a napkin he kept from the actual evening of their first date. Meredith + Adam are that great of a couple. And they, unsurprisingly, had that great of a wedding day. Here are many, many of my favorites from their big day.

I started at the hotel, where Meredith + Adam got ready separately with their friends and families.

Meanwhile, Adam squeezed in one last run before his walk down the aisle.

Back in the bride’s suite, it was soon time for her to get dressed.

I love this next image of Meredith’s little niece, watching her aunt get dressed as a bride and eating candy out of a plastic cup. So much cuteness.

The bride, looking absolutely lovely.

Meredith + Adam chose to see each other before the ceremony for photos, including a quick stroll to the harbor with their families and a traffic-clogged dash over to the ballpark with their wedding party.

I love these next two photos of Meredith +Adam. I got the sense, even in the relatively short amount of time that I’ve spent with them, that they laugh *a lot* together.

And then we were off to the ballpark in a small fleet of Ubers.

We returned to the hotel for a few formal family photos, including a silly face contest with Meredith’s little niece.

The couple gathered with their families and closest friends to sign the ketubah, the Jewish marriage contract, before exchanging rings and vows in front of all their guests.

I love the way the couple’s four parents huddled together during this intimate little moment when their children became officially married under Jewish law.

A few ceremony details.

Meredith + Adam’s cantor shared the story of the bar napkin during their ceremony. The groom showed off his fancy pocket square at the appropriate moment, captured in the next image on the right by my assistant Melika.

I love these little looks that the couple exchanged as they were married. Capturing these moment is by far my favorite aspect of my job.

A final blessing.

The breaking of the glass. The kiss. The pronouncement. Married!

A little bit of of cocktail hour.

A few reception details.

A first dance.

The first-ever hora performed by Three Sheets to the Wind, the yacht rock band hired by the couple to entertain their friends and families for the evening. (They sent the band a New Orleans version to sample, heavy on the horns!)

Working as a wedding photographer in my hometown, I get to reunite every now and then with a childhood friend I haven’t seen in ages. (Hi Jonathan! It was so good to see you!)

A little photo booth hilarity!

A quartet of toasts.

A cake cutting. And lots and lots of fun and frivolity.

The newlyweds and their guests ended the night with snowballs in tribute to Meredith’s favorite summer treat of her Charm City childhood.

Many, many congratulations, Meredith + Adam! We could not have had more fun with you, your friends and your families at your Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel wedding!
