Ashley Ann + Chris were married on the day of the Belmont Stakes. This was perfect for such a horse-loving family as Ashley Ann’s. She rode throughout her life and chose The Evergreen for their reception, in part, because of the equestrian elements of the Carriage House. (There are, afterall, stalls in the back that are used for lounge-like seating and guests who want to hang out near the bar and away from the music.) Their wedding day was made even more special and fun by American Pharoah, who won the Belmont Stakes during Ashley Ann + Chris’s cocktail hour, becoming the first horse in 37 years to capture the Triple Crown. As I work on editing the full collection of photos from this beautiful wedding, I couldn’t help but share a handful of images for Ashley Ann + Chris. Some of my favorites include the wonderful moment when the bride’s mother sprinted across the Evergreen’s sprawling lawn to let her daughter know that there was a Triple Crown winner and their ensuing celebration of hugs, high fives and drink clinking.
