When Katy + Mike and I met on the day of their engagement session, Mike gave me a friendly but serious handshake. I was surprised a short while later when he burst into song, performing an array of boy band songs — complete with dance moves and a mimed microphone — to make Katy laugh and smile. At the end of our time together that day, he teased that he would be working on additional performances for the wedding day. Turns out, he wasn’t actually kidding. One of my favorite moments at this gorgeous Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore wedding was the best man’s speech. After toasting the couple and paying tribute in an utterly touching way to his best friend, Jason launched into a stellar rendition of “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. He even had a light-up party hat. The epic toast only got better when Mike pulled a microphone from who knows where to join his friend in serenading Katy. It was pretty fantastic.
