I was delighted when David contacted me about photographing his surprise Baltimore proposal for Jacqueline. A book lover, she’s long been curious about and intrigued by the George Peabody Library, affectionately known as the Cathedral to Books. The library has always been one of my most favorite landmarks of my hometown. Finished in 1878, it is home to 300,000 volumes dating from the Renaissance and shelved on six tiers of balconies that lead up to a towering skylight. It was a grand location for asking a big question. Jacqueline could not have been more wowed. And I could not have had any more fun capturing the emotional, joyful moment for them — or our impromptu engagement session during golden hour in Mount Vernon Place. Many, many congratulations, you two!
