It is the rare bride who would be unbothered by inclement weather on her wedding day, transportation breakdowns and traffic so bad that it delayed the ceremony. But that’s exactly Michelle. She and Mike just rolled with the punches and were nothing but a joy to be around through one glitch after another. It rained almost every time we had planned to take pictures outside — but the sun came out whenever we were scheduled to be inside. The trolley transporting the bridesmaids to Mount Vernon Place for photos suffered mechanical troubles and needed to be replaced before it could make the scheduled trips with the wedding party and the couple’s families to the church. And traffic was so bad that Saturday that several shuttles full of guests were late late late to the ceremony, delaying its start and leaving Michelle and her father to bide their time in the family’s Ravens tailgating van, which they affectionally call Beauty. (This was perhaps the only moment in which Michelle displayed any displeasure over the glitches. In his toast later that evening, her father may or may not have compared her demeanor in the van to that of a caged badger!) But no matter! The guests eventually arrived. The couple exchanged vows and rings and sweet little glances. The sun shone as the couple exited Corpus Christi Church and their friends and family cheered with pompoms. We snuck in a few outdoor photos between downpours. Dinner was served in a spectacularly decked out ball room at the Engineers Club. And everyone enjoyed one of the most epic dance parties I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing! Here are many of my favorites from Michelle + Mike’s wonderful, wonderful day.

The famous Beauty — the bride’s family’s tailgating van — was shined up and decorated with the couple’s wedding day hashtag for the occasion.

Michelle requested a photo of her wedding gown flanked by those that she wore for her baptism and first communion. So lovely!

There was a lot of pink. Since it happens to be one of my favorite colors, I couldn’t help but smile at all these sweet, pink details.

Michelle is incredibly expressive, which made her even more fun to photograph!

We could not have asked for a better Plan B for rainy day family and wedding party photos at the Engineers Club!

I loved that we could see how green and springy everything was out the windows behind the couple without actually being in the rain.

And then we were off to Corpus Christi Church, one of my most favorite Catholic churches in Baltimore. Not only is it beautiful, it is also where I attended Mass for many years. It’s always a pleasure to be back!

I love the next photo on the left side, which my assistant Andrew shot from the choir loft.

I wanted to be sure to photograph them from this angle, which showed off Michelle’s mother’s lovely wedding veil.

Andrew caught this great moment as the couple headed down the aisle to lead the recessional out of the church.

With dark storm clouds looming and more rain on the radar, we didn’t want to venture too far from the front doors of the Engineers Club. But we did manage to sneak in a few outdoor portraits before the rain returned.
