Although I mostly shoot weddings for work, every now and then, I have an opportunity to photograph events designed, organized and thrown by my colleagues in the wedding industry. It’s always so impressive and inspiring to see what the florists, caterers and lighting, draping and furniture experts with whom I work every weekend come up with when they’re not limited by clients’ wishes or design ideas. Such was the case last night when I photographed the AFR Showcase and Design Competition for the Baltimore stop on the national furniture rental company’s U.S. tour. The creative geniuses at Flowers and Fancies and My Flower Box Events designed jaw-dropping vignettes within Mosaic Nightclub & Lounge at Baltimore’s Power Plant Live. In addition to all the gorgeous florals, there was also a guitar duo, an aerialist, an ice cream bar and armchairs from AFR’s line suspended from the atrium ceiling.
