Wedding Confetti

Erin & Rick

Erin and Rick invited their guests to their wedding with a puppet show that told the story of their meeting, courtship and engagement — and was filmed and produced as an old fashioned black and white silent movie. It is hard to describe how delightful and fantastic that save-the-date video was. So no one was surprised by all of the elements that Erin and Rick planned for the wedding to share bits of their history together, honor their families and closest friends and entertain and treat their guests. There were life-size cardboard cutouts of the bride and groom for silly photos. There was a lovely serenade by the groom’s brother and the bride’s sister. And despite storm clouds gathering on the horizon, Erin and Rick did not change one little thing about their carefully planned ceremony, which was officiated by one of their closest friends and which allowed them to savor and linger over the actual act of getting married. Then, there were the vows. Erin wrote Rick’s vows. He wrote hers. They did not share them with each other until the very moment in front of all their guests when they untied each little stack of notecards and began to read aloud. They were funny. They were heartwarming. They were sincere and sarcastic and utterly moving, all at once. The whole day was an absolute joy to photograph.
