Maddie used to work for Anthropologie in home goods and women’s fashion. Zachary is a landscape architect. Though I did not meet them until just before their wedding, I had looked forward to their big day at the American Visionary Art Museum for *months* because I assumed it would be gorgeous. It, of course, was. But what has me smiling like crazy as I edit their photos is this couple, their friends and their family. The gaggle of relatives who traveled from New Zealand. The Bel Air High School friends who could not have been more excited to see high school sweethearts exchange vows. The rugby team that hoisted Zachary into the air at the reception. The amazing grandmas who barely left the dance floor all night. As I work on editing Maddie + Zach’s full collection of photographs, I couldn’t help but share a few favorites as a little sneak peek for them (and for their mothers, who have been extraordinarily faithful readers of my blog for the last year. Hi, Jonel + Carol!) There are many, many more photos to come. Enjoy!

wow! These photos are just beautiful and capture the love and joy of Maddie and Zachs special day. As one of the Kiwi contingent – thank you for sharing these – wonderful to see.
