A Valley Country Club wedding: Aubrey + Chris

I am crazy about my job whenever clients hire me to photograph their weddings and other special occasions in life. When those clients happen to be people whom I’ve known and adored for years, well, my cheeks ache at the end of those evenings from smiling so much. Such was the case when my fabulous next-door neighbor, Edie, hired me to photograph the wedding of her youngest son, Chris, to the lovely Aubrey. I not only got to know Chris and his brother when they lived next door and later visited their mom after they moved out to places of their own. But I also had the pleasure of spending time with Aubrey when I photographed the wedding of her very good friend, Karen to Michael, a few years ago. So I was beyond thrilled to have the honor of capturing Aubrey + Chris’s big day. And what a day it was. Chris happens to have a cousin who is a co-owner of top-notch event planning company Union 3 Event Productions. Everything, from the lovely outdoor ceremony after dark and the blankets set out for guests to ward off the late-fall chill to the fabulous dance party, the gorgeous flowers and the stylish autumnal color scheme, was a joy to photograph. My favorite parts, however, were the couple’s incredibly personal and touching vows — he paid tribute to her contagious laugh while she promised to always be the tomato soup to his tuna sandwich — and the marvelous toasts from their siblings and parents. Oh, and Edie. I also love love loved photographing the obvious delight that my dear neighbor felt all day long at seeing her boy marry his girl. Here are many, many of my favorite images from their big day.

Edie could not have looked more lovely that day. She got ready with Aubrey, her mother and the bridesmaids.

Aubrey, who is oh so expressive, was a joy to photograph all day long!

The bride, looking absolutely lovely.

Aubrey + Chris decided to see each other before the ceremony for photos. I love everything about this next series of images as Aubrey waits for her almost husband in the garden of Chris’s uncle’s beautiful home.

The friends in Aubrey + Chris’s wedding party could not have been more fun. I met many of the women at Karen + Michael’s wedding, so it was a wee bit of a reunion for us. They are so much fun!

And then we were off to the Mansion at Valley Country Club for the wedding.

Married!

A few reception details.

A first dance.

A few toasts and a blessing.

A pair of parent dances.

And lots and lots of fun and merriment.  Many, many congratulations, Aubrey + Chris. I could not have had any more fun working with you, your friends and your families!
